BLOODY DICE is a Copenhagen-based hard rock and metal band that fuses classic influences with modern grit and energy. Formed by seasoned musicians with a shared vision for authenticity and raw expression, the band delivers a sound rooted in the spirit of old-school rock—powerful, dynamic, and unapologetically human.
Guitarist Nickie Jensen, a native Dane, brings a melodic edge shaped by his time in the modern rock band Violmace. He is joined by longtime collaborator and drummer Peter Larson, also a Violmace alumnus, whose powerful, precise drumming drives the band’s rhythmic core. Their musical synergy forms the backbone of BLOODY DICE’s cohesive sound.
On bass, Jakob Haugaard stands out as a prominent figure in Denmark’s metal scene. Currently a member of Iron Fire, Haugaard has also recorded with the band Evil, and performed with GSA and Shadowspawn, showcasing his versatility as both bassist and vocalist.
Leading the charge is vocalist Dagfinn Joensen from the Faroe Islands, known for his acclaimed tenure with the legendary Danish AOR band Fate. Joensen’s blues-soaked, emotionally charged vocals and commanding stage presence have become defining elements of BLOODY DICE’s identity, evoking the raw essence of classic rock while remaining unmistakably his own.
At the heart of BLOODY DICE lies a mission: to restore sincerity, dynamics, and soul to rock music. In an era where perfection is digitally manufactured and recordings are often stripped of personality through excessive autotune, quantization, and compression, the band takes a bold stance. “We want music to sound like it’s played by human beings—not machines,” says Joensen. “We embrace warmth, imperfection, and the unpolished, because that’s where the magic lives.”
The band’s journey has been shaped by years of experience in the studio and on stage—often recording elaborate albums with hundreds of layers, only to feel something essential was missing. With BLOODY DICE, they’re choosing a different path: one focused on honesty, simplicity, and raw energy, both live and in the studio.
Both of the band’s albums were recorded by legendary producer and engineer Flemming Rasmussen, whose credits include Rainbow’s Difficult To Cure (1981) and several of Metallica’s most iconic albums: Ride The Lightning (1984), Master Of Puppets (1986), and ...And Justice For All (1988). Rasmussen won a Grammy for producing Metallica’s One in 1989, and his work with BLOODY DICE reflects the same commitment to capturing true performance and sonic depth.
With a year of touring behind them and a follow-up to their successful debut album, BLOODY DICE continues to deliver a sound that pays homage to the roots of hard rock and metal. Fans can expect electrifying performances, razor-sharp musicianship, and songs that resonate with anyone craving the raw, authentic spirit of the genre.
